I have mold, is it the
bad kind?
There are thousands of different types
of mold and without a test you can’t identify the
exact type of mold that is present. One thing to keep in
mind is that people
are affected differently by mold. Some people are far
more susceptible to mold than others. The most important
part of dealing with mold is to solve the moisture problem
then remediate the mold. This can be done by scheduling
a visual inspection with Fresh Air. |

A home inspector wrote
up that there is mold/fungus present in the crawlspace
what should I do?
The first step is to schedule a certified mold remediator
to evaluate the severity of the mold and to identify
the moisture problem(s). It is always important to note
that the New York State Guidelines state that the moisture
problem must be solved to properly remediate mold. In
addition, having a certified mold remediator (CMR) perform
the inspection gives you the best possibility for a successful
remediation. Fresh Air is a Certified Mold Remediation
and Certified Mold Inspection firm.

How much does it cost
to remediate mold?
The cost of mold remediation varies with each individual
situation. Typically each problem is different with different
solutions. Fresh Air will come out to do a visual inspection
to identify the severity of the problem and the source
of the moisture. Upon completion of the inspection the
Account Manager will provide a written proposal with
pictures and a solution to your problems. |

I have condensation on
my ductwork and insulation in my crawlspace, do I have
a problem with HVAC system?
Though air leakage from improperly sealed ductwork may
be a contributing factor to moisture issues in the crawlspace
there may be additional problems associated with lack
of air movement. Condensation on ducts and insulation
is more commonly associated with a lack of air movement
problem than an HVAC problem. The first step is to schedule
a visual inspection with Fresh Air to allow one of our
Account Managers inspect and evaluate the true source
of the problem. |

Do you do Mold Testing?
Though Fresh Air is fully qualified to do mold testing
we specialize in mold remediation and feel there is a
conflict of interest if you do your own mold testing
and mold remediation. Typically, when you have mold testing
at the beginning of the job you would want to have that
same company come out after project completion to clear
that the job has been completed properly. Fresh Air always
recommends qualified independent companies to be hired
by our clients to perform the testing. |
